Former Ireland youth international McLoughlin joins Newport County

Newport County have announced the signing of former Republic of Ireland youth international Shane McLoughlin.
“I spoke with the Manager last week and he’s explained what he wants out of me and what our ambitions are for this season, and I think it’s a great fit all round. I am really excited to get going, now I’m in the building,” McLoughlin said, speaking to the club’s website.
The midfielder joins the League 2 side on a two year del from Salford City.
The 26 year old was born in New York but his family moved back to Ireland when he was five years old. He began his career with Ipswich Town and went on to have spells with AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe.
