Tottenham Hotspur sign Swiss international Luana Bühler
Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Swiss international defender Luana Bühler from 1899 Hoffenheim.
Bühler has agreed to a contract that will keep her at the club until June 2025, subject to obtaining international clearance and a work permit.
The 27-year-old Bühler kick-started her career with FC Zürich and then joined Hoffenheim in 2018.
During her time at Zürich, she made four appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and was a key member of the squad that lifted the Nationalliga A Women trophy as well as the Schweizer Pokal Frauen.
Over her five-season tenure at Hoffenheim, Bühler has amassed 100 appearances across all competitions, which included eight outings in the Champions League, and she managed to find the back of the net six times.
Bühler also served as captain of Hoffenheim, which finished fourth in the Frauen-Bundesliga in the 2022/23 season.
Having represented the Switzerland Under-19s team in six games, Bühler has since been capped 40 times at the senior level in various competitions.
She recently participated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers and is set to represent her country in the upcoming tournament in Australia and New Zealand this summer.
