Tottenham Hotspur has announced the appointment of Robert Vilahamn as the new head coach for their women's team.

Vilahamn, who has signed a two-year contract subject to a work permit, brings with him a wealth of experience from his time in Swedish football.

Commenting on the appointment, Managing Director Andy Rogers said, “Robert is an ambitious, dynamic and successful coach, and we are excited to welcome him to the club ahead of the upcoming season."

"He has a track record of developing players to international level and competing for both domestic trophies and in the Champions League, demonstrating his ability to match our own ambitions and philosophy.”

Vilahamn's career in football started on the pitch, where he represented IFK Göteborg and Sweden Under-19 as a player. He transitioned to coaching in 2008 at Ytterby IS, where he promptly led the team to back-to-back promotions.

His coaching journey also included a stint as Head Coach of the Under-19 team at Örgryte IS, and a successful tenure at Qviding FIF, where he won promotions in both his seasons in charge.

In 2020, Vilahamn moved to BK Häcken as Assistant Coach, contributing to the team's qualification for the inaugural Europa Conference League.

He later took on the role of Head Coach of the club's women's team, leading them to Champions League qualification in his first season and taking them to the Swedish Cup final in 2022 and 2023.

On his appointment, Vilahamn expressed his excitement, stating, "It’s an honour to join this world-renowned football club and I’m truly motivated by both the challenge and the opportunity that comes with this role. The Club has a talented group of players and I look forward to leading this team in such an exciting project.”

Tottenham Hotspur will confirm the rest of Vilahamn’s coaching staff in the coming days.
