Aodh Dervin signs for Galway United
Galway United has confirmed the acquisition of Irish midfielder Aodh Dervin from Shelbourne, following the end of his loan term with Longford Town.
During his time with Longford, Dervin established himself as a consistent feature, playing in all but two matches for the team. In his 17 appearances for the midlanders, Dervin scored once during the 1-1 away draw against Finn Harps, as well as providing two assists.
Commenting on his move to Galway, Dervin said, "Galway is a huge club, as soon as I heard there was interest I wanted to come. The fans when they're playing have the place rocking and they're flying at the minute so it was a no brainer really."
In terms of his personal contributions to the team, Dervin promised "hard work, big tackles, and doing everything to get a win."
Galway United manager, John Caulfield, expressed satisfaction with the new addition, saying, "We're delighted to get Aodh, he's vastly experienced. We know his strengths, he has tremendous energy and is very good on the ball."
