Louise Quinn signs new contract to extend stay at Birmingham City Women
The 33-year-old accepted the Midland club’s offer and signed a new two-year deal, which will see her stay at the Blues until June 2025.
Quinn, who is currently with the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of the FIFA World Cup this month, has made 57 appearances during her time at Birmingham, scoring an impressive 11 goals for the club.
After a hampered spell in Italy due to Covid-19, the centre back departed Fiorentina and signed for Birmingham in 2021 and was named club captain shortly after her arrival.
The news comes on the day that fellow Republic of Ireland and club teammate Lucy Quinn also extended her stay with the Blues which will see her remain at the St. Andrews until 2025.
Quinn has been a crucial player for the Irish team since her debut in 2008, being capped 104 times for her country. The Wicklow native will represent Ireland at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup taking place in Australia and New Zealand having been named in Vera Pauw's squad.
