Cian Byrne confirms Longford Town departure
Bohemians defender Cian Byrne has left First Division strugglers Longford Town to return to his parent club.
Byrne joined the De Town at the start of the 2023 campaign and played a key role for Stephen Henderson’s side since joining.
He played 20 times for the club, and started in all of those games.
“A great couple of months at Longford Town,” he wrote on social media.
“(I) enjoyed every minute it. (I’m) very grateful for the players, staff and fans.
“It’s been a great experience and I’m very thankful for the opportunity. Wishing the club all the best for the rest of the season.”
His last game for the club came in a 2-1 win at home to Wexford on Saturday night, with Longford rising to 8th in the table.
They play Waterford next on Friday night at the RSC. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
The club can confirm that Cian Byrne’s loan has ended and he heads back to his home club Bohemians.
