Barcelona reach agreement to terminate Samuel Umtiti's contract

Barcelona and Samuel Umtiti have reached an agreement which sees the French international released from his contract with the Spanish club much earlier than the original 2026 expiry date.
The defender had spent the 2022/23 season on loan with Serie A side Lecce where he made 25 appearances.
Umtiti signed for Barcelona in 2016 in a 25 million euro move from Lyon and he would go on to be a two time La Liga champion and three time winner of the Copa del Rey.
The 29 year old also won the World Cup in 2018, he played in the final for France when they defeated Croatia 4-2.
