Tranmere Rovers confirm signing of goalkeeper Luke McGee
Tranmere Rovers have announced the signing of goalkeeper Luke McGee, 27, on a one-year contract.
The accomplished goalkeeper comes from Forest Green Rovers, where he made a total of 110 appearances since 2020.
The Tottenham Hotspur youth product has a rich career history, with a total of 214 appearances across clubs including Peterborough United, Portsmouth, and Bradford City.
This addition means that all five of Tranmere Rovers' senior summer signings have experienced a promotion from the division in the last four years.
First Team Manager Ian Dawes expressed his delight about McGee's signing, stating: "We're very happy to get Luke's signing over the line as we have been looking for an experienced goalkeeper who will be vocal and play a key part in organising his back line, and Luke is a great example of that with experience of getting promoted from this league."
Sharing his excitement about joining the Rovers, McGee said, “I'm over the moon to get it done. I'm just ready to hit the ground running on Monday and get started."
He further added, "The gaffer rang me last week, we were on the phone for a good while and he just explained his philosophy, his plans moving forward, and it went exactly hand in hand with how I want to do it. It was a perfect one for me."
