Former Dundalk loanee Wasiri Williams secures two year deal with Partick Thistle
Partick Thistle has confirmed the signing of Wasiri Williams, the 23-year-old defender from Swansea City.
Williams is set to sign his two-year contract when his current contract ends on July 1.
Williams was loaned out to Dundalk in the League of Ireland earlier this year. During his brief time in Ireland, he made 12 appearances before returning to Swansea this week.
Partick Thistle manager Kris Doolan expressed his pleasure at the signing, stating, "I'm delighted to add Wasiri to the squad and to have him in at Firhill in time for pre-season training starting is even better."
Doolan further acknowledged the club's need for new recruits, hinting at future summer deals, "We know that there will be key areas that we'll have to recruit in this summer and this is the start of the summer business that we're looking to conduct."
He highlighted the young player's skillset, sharing, "Wasiri is a strong, physical defender who is first and foremost a centre-back which is where we see him playing his football in Maryhill. He’s quick and is good on the ball so I’m sure he’ll slot in seamlessly to the way we want to play this season.”
