League Preview: Athlone Town -v- Treaty United
ATHLONE TOWN
Athlone Town welcome Treaty United to Lissywoolen on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Co Westmeath men enjoyed a stunning start to the season and sit in third position just past the midway point.
And they have remarkably achieved that feat with two changes of manager already this season.
Dermot Lennon was their boss at the start before he returned to his role as director of football, while Gordon Brett took over soon after.
But Brett has since departed and has yet to be replaced in an official capacity as of yet.
The Town however have unearthed a number of gems in the meantime, with forward duo Jamar Campion-Hinds and Frantz Pierrot impressing up front.
But for Friday’s home tie against Treaty, Athlone have not issued any team news.
TREATY UNITED
Tommy Barrett’s side sit just five points outside the play-off positions after a patchy start to the campaign – but they are still in touch with the top-five.
Treaty reached the play-offs in each of the last two seasons, but if they repeat the trick again this year it will be an impressive feat.
Barrett’s side have been without a number of players all season with Marc Ludden and Enda Curran missing out for large spells already.
But they appear to have come through that injury crisis with only Mark Walsh listed as a confirmed absentee for Friday’s trip to Athlone.
However, Alec Byrne, Conor Winn and Success Edogun are doubts.
Referee: Jason Moore.
