Walsall secures defender Chris Hussey on a one-year contract
Walsall has announced the signing of experienced defender Chris Hussey, who joins the team on an initial one-year contract.
The 34-year-old will officially move to Walsall on July 1st, once his contract with Stockport County expires.
Throughout his career, Hussey has built a solid record, including multiple promotions. He kickstarted his career at AFC Wimbledon, playing a significant role in their promotions in 2008 and 2009.
He subsequently had stints at Coventry City, Burton Albion, Bury, Sheffield United, Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town, Port Vale, and Stockport County. Hussey was pivotal in securing promotions for Coventry City, Sheffield United, and Cheltenham Town.
Hussey expressed enthusiasm about his move to Walsall: “I’m delighted to join Walsall... I’m hoping for a good, successful season and everyone is pulling in the same direction. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Walsall FC's Head Coach, Mat Sadler, highlighted Hussey's valuable experience and capabilities: “I’m chuffed to bring Chris in. He is somebody with a high pedigree in this division and the one above... He’s the right type of person, the right type of character, and he wants to get further promotions in his career."
