Exeter City signs defender Vincent Harper on two-year deal
Exeter City has officially confirmed the acquisition of 22-year-old defender Vincent Harper from the National League side Eastleigh.
Harper, known for his versatility as a left-back or wing-back, joins on a two-year deal. The contract includes an option for a third year, all for an undisclosed compensation fee.
Harper, originally from Bristol City's youth academy, has had loan spells at Gloucester City, Weston-super-Mare, and Bath City.
After departing Bristol in 2021, he joined Eastleigh, where he made 71 appearances and scored five goals.
In addition to his club commitments, Harper represented the England C team in a match against Wales C in March, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 victory.
Exeter City's assistant manager, Kevin Nicholson, expressed his thoughts on the new signing.
"He is the right kind of player for us. He's young and had experience of academy football and he has left to find his way in the National League," said Nicholson.
"He is coming here with a skillset and the tools to compete to get into our first team right now, but he is also nowhere near his ceiling. He has a huge amount of potential," Nicholson added.
