EURO 2024 qualifier wrap: Portugal and Scotland secure third wins in row
A summary of games on Saturday across four groups of EURO 2024 qualifiers.
Group A
Scotland made it three wins from three with a dramatic 2-1 away win over Norway. They were trailing to an Erling Halland penalty but scored twice in the last three minutes through Lyndon Dykes and Kenny McLean to win the tie.
There was also a 2-1 away win in the other Group A game as Georgia beat Cyprus 2-1.
The results see Scotland top of the group five points clear of Georgia and six from Spain (both of whom have a game in hand) and eight clear of Norway.
Group E
Albania defeated Molova 2-1 while the Czech Republic won 3-0 in the Faroe Islands with Vaclav Cerny scoring twice
Group F
Shamrock Rovers midfielder Markus Poom was an unused substitute in Baku as Estonia drew 1-1 with Azerbaijan. It was the same scoreline in Brussels between Belgium and Austria. Romelu Lukaku cancelled out Orel Mangala’s first half own goal.
Group G
There were also two further draws as Lithuania and Bulgaria drew 1-1 while it was scoreless between Montenegro and Hungary.
Group J
There were three games in this group with Portugal winning 3-0 at home against Bosnia and Herzegovina with Bruno Fernandes with a brace along with a goal from Bernardo Silva. Luxembourg beat Liechtenstein 2-0 and finally Iceland lost 2-1 at home to Slovakia.
