Manchester United has released their retained list to the Premier League revealing extensions and departures that will impact the team's composition for the upcoming season.

Talks are underway with David De Gea regarding a potential new contract, while extensions have already been triggered on the deals for goalkeepers Tom Heaton and Nathan Bishop.

Additional extensions were implemented for defenders Rhys Bennett and Ethan Laird.

Furthermore, under-21s player coach Tom Huddlestone is likely to remain with the club, following discussions about a new contract.

Young forward Mateo Mejia has also been extended an offer.

However, Manchester United will be bidding farewell to some familiar faces.

Centre-back Phil Jones, who made 229 appearances for United in his 12-year tenure, is parting ways with the club.

In addition, defender Axel Tuanzebe, who joined the Academy at the age of eight and has since made 37 first-team appearances, will be leaving.

Tuanzebe, who captained the Reds at every level and led the team against his hometown club, Rochdale, in a Carabao Cup tie in 2019, is seeking pastures new.

Ethan Galbraith and Di’Shon Bernard, who had loan spells at Salford City and Portsmouth respectively, are also seeking new opportunities.

Academy players Eric Hanbury, Charlie Wellens, and Manni Norkett are leaving after the completion of their current terms.
