Northampton Town FC has secured Max Dyche on a new two-year contract.

The 20-year-old defender has already appeared 26 times for the Cobblers and played a significant role in the club's recent promotion to Sky Bet League One.

Cobblers' manager Jon Brady expressed his satisfaction with Dyche's performance and progression.

“Max is a player who we are pleased will be staying with the club. He played 22 times for us last season and his game is developing all the time,” Brady stated.

Acknowledging the difficulty of securing the second professional contract, Brady added, “It is often the second professional contract that is the toughest to achieve but Max has deserved this contract because of his progress over the last two years and we look forward to that continuing.”

Max Dyche himself described his decision to extend his stay with Northampton as 'pretty simple.'

"Northampton is my boyhood club, we had a great ending to last season and I want to carry on from where I left off," Dyche said.

He further added, “It’s a good place to be and hopefully we can kick on again now and go and show League One what we’ve got.”

Dyche returned early from injury last season to make 22 appearances, contributing significantly to the team's promotion. With this new contract, both Dyche and Northampton Town FC are looking forward to building on their recent successes.

Dyche is the son of Everton manager Sean Dyche.
