Ireland striker Amber Barrett joins Standard Liege after spell in Germany
Ireland international striker Amber Barrett has put pen to paper on a contract with Belgian giants Standard Liege.
The 26-year-old previously played for Turbine Potsdam in Germany but has linked up with her new side just week’s before the World Cup.
The former Peamount United star scored the goal that sent Ireland to the World Cup in October at the expense of Scotland at Hampden Park.
And in a statement, Standard Liege wished the international ‘the best’ at the club.
“Amber Barrett, a 26-year-old experienced striker, arrives in Belgium from Turbine Potsdam in the Bundesliga,” it read.
“Amber will play the next Women's World Cup in Australia & New Zealand. We welcome her and the best in our colours.”
