Former Longford Town and Drogheda United defender Daniel O’Reilly leaves Scottish side Hamilton
Daniel O’Reilly has called time on his stint with Hamilton Academical in Scotland after a near 18-month spell at the club.
The former Longford Town, Shelbourne, Finn Harps and Drogheda United central defender impressed in the Scottish Championship when there, but he was unable to help them avoid relegation at the end of the 2022/23 season.
He made over 50 appearances for the Accies and also helped them to a Scottish Challenge Cup trophy earlier this year.
However, after Hamilton were relegated to the third-tier of Scottish football, O’Reilly made the call to part ways with his now former employer.
“My time at Hamilton is over,” he said. Huge thanks to my teammates, management ane staff for giving me the opportunity.
My time at @acciesfc is over. Huge thanks to my team mates, management & staff for giving me the opportunity. The past two seasons brought obvious lows and many highs.I will always value my time here. Special thanks to the fans for their support to me personally. It meant a lot pic.twitter.com/FinZ0HHTia
