League Preview: Treaty United -v- Cobh Ramblers
TREATY UNITED
Treaty United welcome Munster rivals Cobh Ramblers to the Markets Field on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
Treaty come into the game off the back of an entertaining 1-1 draw against Wexford on Monday evening.
And that draw was a welcome result after boss Tommy Barrett saw his side slump to a heavy 7-0 loss away to Waterford at the RSC last Friday.
“We should have beaten them down in Cobh,” Barrett said when speaking to his club’s media team this week.
“There is not much between the teams and it will be very tight.
“They probably have a more experienced squad than us but we will certainly want to win the game and after that performance against Wexford – hopefully we can put two together.
“They have very good attacking players but my only concern at the moment is with Success (Edogun) and Enda (Curran) out – we need to find goals from somewhere.”
COBH RAMBLERS
Cobh Ramblers will be looking to sign off for the mid-season break with a win when they take on Treaty United.
Shane Keegan’s side claimed a morale-boosting win over Longford Town on Monday, with Wilson Waweru’s second-half strike sealing the three points.
And that win nudged the Rams further into the play-off positions.
But they come into their Markets Field showdown without injured duo Michael McCarthy and Issa Kargbo.
Meanwhile, Jack Doherty and Cian Browne are suspended.
Referee: Marc Lynch.
