League Preview: Longford Town -v- Finn Harps
LONGFORD TOWN
First Division strugglers Longford Town host Finn Harps in a pivotal clash in the race for a play-off position at Bishopsgate on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Red and Black were riding the crest of a wave before last weekend – but two successive defeats have left them reeling once more.
In addition, Stephen Henderson’s side have been hit with a crippling injury list.
While trio Aaron Walsh, Ciaran Hodanu and Gavin O’Brien returned against Cobh Ramblers on Monday – up to nine players are likely to miss out again on Friday.
Ross Fay¸ James Doona, Gary Armstrong, Shane Elworthy, Beineon O’Brien Whitmarsh, Francis Campbell, Derek Daly, Stephen Meaney and Mo Boudiaf are all out.
In addition, Longford Town are without duo Kyle O’Connor and Darragh Lynch due to suspension.
However, midfielder Aodh Dervin has returned to the fold following a ban. Boss Henderson is also serving a touchline suspension.
FINN HARPS
Also finding it difficult this season, Dave Rogers’ Finn Harps make the trip to Bishopsgate with a point to prove.
Harps fell to a demoralising defeat in their last outing against Galway United – losing 6-0 at Eamonn Deacy Park.
The Co Donegal side sit 9th as a result of their heavy loss – but they are well clear of bottom-placed side Kerry.
However, Harps have been hit with a number of key absentees in recent weeks.
Ryan Rainey, Daniel Okwute and Ellis Farrar are all out.
Referee: Robert Dowling.
