Rangers have announced its third summer signing with the pre-contract agreement of Crystal Palace's Jack Butland.

The England-capped goalkeeper will officially join the club on a four-year deal starting July 1, pending international clearance.

The 30-year-old Englishman comes to Rangers with significant Premier League experience.

Butland's career began with Birmingham City before transitioning to Stoke City in 2013, where he earned the club's Player of the Year award twice during his seven-year tenure.

He then joined Crystal Palace in 2020, and spent half of the 2022/23 season on loan with Manchester United.

Notably, Butland holds the record for being England’s youngest ever international goalkeeper, debuting at the age of 19 in a friendly against Italy.

His experiences have culminated in around 300 appearances in senior football, with nearly 90 in the Premier League.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Butland stated, "I’m over the moon... This is a huge opportunity for me, and I’m delighted to be here. I feel great and motivated at the age that I am, and I feel excited at what the future holds."

Rangers' Manager, Michael Beale, also spoke highly of Butland, praising his alignment with the club's goals and highlighting his extensive experience in senior football.

"I feel that we have recruited an excellent goalkeeper and, importantly, a top person," Beale commented.

Butland further emphasized his leadership skills, stating that he aims to set and maintain high standards both on and off the pitch.

Reflecting on his role, he said, "Playing for Rangers is all about the big moment...it is the big moment and that is what I am looking to bring."

Butland's signing follows the club's acquisition of Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling earlier this summer.
