COBH RAMBLERS

Cobh Ramblers welcome injury-hit Longford Town to St Colman’s Park on Monday evening in a crunch play-off clash (kick-off is at 5pm).

The Rams endured a Friday night to forget against Wexford as they fell to a late 2-1 loss at Ferrycarrig Park.

And that defeat came with a cost following Cian Browne’s late red card. He will now miss Cobh’s home encounter against Longford.

However, Jack Doherty has returned from injury – and he made a goalscoring impact upon his introduction.

The former Wexford attacker levelled for Shane Keegan’s side in their subsequent loss.

But Monday’s game offers them an opportunity to react and keep their place in the play-offs ahead of the chasing pack.

Pierce Phillips and Issa Kargbo remain out injured.

LONGFORD TOWN

As mentioned, Longford visit St Colman’s Park with a skeleton squad available to boss Stephen Henderson.

In fact, the former Cobh Ramblers manager will be banned from the side-line after he was dismissed late on in their 1-0 loss away to local rivals Athlone Town.

And he has been joined on the suspension list by Aodh Dervin and Kyle O’Connor – both of whom were brandished with red cards on Friday night in Lissywollen.

Dervin will serve a one-match ban after two yellow cards, while O’Connor is likely to face an additional few games after he received a straight.

And while striker Cristian Magerusan has returned following injury, Longford have an extensive injury list that has crippled their momentum of recent weeks.

James Doona, Gary Armstrong, Shane Elworthy, Beineon O’Brien Whitmarsh, Francis Campbell, Aaron Walsh, Ciaran Hodanu, Derek Daly, Stephen Meaney, Gavin O’Brien and Mo Boudiaf are all out.

Meanwhile, Ross Fay was also forced off against Athlone Town with an ankle injury.

Referee: Paul Norton.
