Stevenage sign Nick Freeman and Alex MacDonald
Stevenage has confirmed that terms have been agreed with two midfielders, Nick Freeman and Alex MacDonald, for the upcoming season.
Freeman, a 27-year-old local, is set to join Boro, subject to approval from the English Football League and the Football Association.
His football journey to date includes seven seasons at Wycombe Wanderers, during which time he made over 175 appearances and secured a League One Play-Off winning medal.
In a statement about his move, Freeman expressed his excitement about joining his local club.
He said, “I was born and raised in the area, so it’s an exciting time for me. The club is going in the right direction and improving every year. This next step is a big one and I can’t wait to get started."
The club has also agreed terms with 33-year-old Alex MacDonald, primarily a winger, who joins Stevenage after spending time at Gillingham, Mansfield Town, Oxford United and Burton Albion across both League One and Two.
MacDonald's connection with Stevenage extends to the manager, Steve Evans. This will be the third time MacDonald has played under Evans' management, having made over 100 appearances for the Boro’ boss during his time at Gillingham and Mansfield.
