Preston North End has announced their retained list for the conclusion of the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship season. The club has taken several decisions concerning both retained and released players, with several Irish players featuring prominently including former Cork City underage player Harry Nevin.

Alan Browne, the Republic of Ireland international and a pivotal figure in the North End squad, is among the players who are already under contract for the forthcoming season. His contributions have been instrumental in the midfield. Browne played 40 games for Preston in the 2022/23 season scoring twice.

The club has also extended contract offers to Irish players Greg Cunningham and Robbie Brady. Both contracts are set to expire, but negotiations for new deals are currently ongoing. Cunningham, a previous staple in the club's backline during two spells, and Brady, a mid-season addition after his tenure at Bournemouth ended, have both provided considerable depth and experience to the squad.

On the other hand, the club will bid farewell to Nevin, a young Irish defender and, as mentioned, a former Cork City underage player, who is amongst the out-of-contract players being released.

The conclusion of the season also signals the end of loan spells for several players. Notably, Irish striker Troy Parrott is set to return to parent club Tottenham Hotspurs. Parrott's tenure at Preston has been valuable, contributing four goals in 34 appearances.

Additionally, Irish Under-21 international Tom Cannon will return to Everton after the completion of his loan period.
