League Preview: Treaty United -v- Galway United
TREATY UNITED
Injury-ravaged Treaty United take on Galway United as they look to back up last weekend’s 3-0 win against Longford Town.
The Shannonsiders blitzed Longford with three goals without reply at Bishopsgate last weekend.
Striker Enda Curran scored twice while Stephen Christopher also found the net for Tommy Barrett’s side.
But they come into this game against Galway United without the services of suspended defender Ben O’Riordan who was sent off late on against Longford.
And they are also unlikely to be with Willie Armshaw and Alec Byrne who have not trained this week.
Already injured Conor Winn, Darren Collins, Success Edogun, Mark Walsh, Fionn Doherty, Conor Barry, Anto O’Donnell and Denzil Fernandez remain out.
GALWAY UNITED
League leaders Galway United make the short trip to Limerick as they look to maintain their strong start to the season.
The Tribesmen have only lost once this season – away to Longford Town – and are 10 points clear of closest challengers Waterford in the table.
And they have also been boosted by the form of Vincent Borden with the American scoring eight goals so far this season.
Galway also have the best defensive record in the First Division with just six goals conceded in 14 games. But their boss John Caulfield is ready for a big test against Treaty United.
“They are on a very good run of form,” he said. “We know it’ll be a real, local derby.
“We are on a good run of form ourselves and we’re hoping to keep it going.”
Referee: Chris Sheehan.
