Colchester United part ways with Alan Judge and Kieran O’Hara
League Two strugglers Colchester United have confirmed they have parted ways with Ireland internationals Alan Judge and Kieran O’Hara.
Judge, 34, has not played for Ireland since 2019 but has been on the books of Colchester United since 2021.
But his stint at the club has been plagued by injury issues after joining from Ipswich Town.
And this season it has been the same with Judge not playing for the club for the second half of the campaign.
O’Hara however made over 30 appearances for Colchester during the 2022/23 season.
But the pair have been released by the club after the League Two side limped to a 20th placed league finish.
“Kieran has made some match winning saves this season and has always worked hard on the training pitch,” their sporting director Dmitri Halajko said.
“Alan Judge is very unfortunate as his bad injury has kept him out of the second half of the season.
“However, he is working very hard with our medical team to get back playing. We will still be seeing plenty of him at the club while we help him back to full fitness.”
Colchester United can now confirm the retained list at the end of the 2022/23 season.
