Former Athlone Town youngster Dylan Gavin leaves Charlton
Former Athlone Town player Dylan Gavin has left English third-tier side Charlton Athletic after being released by the clubs.
Gavin, 20, has been on the books of the Addicts since he was 16 after joining from Athlone.
A striker by trade, the Athlone native played one senior game for the former Premier League club at competitive first-team level in the EFL Trophy during the 2020-21 season.
However, Gavin did play senior football while at the club with loan spells at a host of non-league sides in England.
Most recently, Gavin plied his trade for Welling United – and was also previously on the books of Billericay Town, Tonbridge Angels and Dulwich Hamlet.
“Good things do come to an end,” the striker said on Wednesday.
“My time at Charlton has come to an end. It’s been a pleasure to play for this club and to have made my debut at this club.
“I’d like to thank everyone during my 4 years at Charlton. Onto the next chapter.”
