Cork City Foras Co-op boss Tommy Dunne has further bolstered his squad with the captures of Michael Devine and Shane Duggan.

The Munster-based club were recently dealt a blow when three players they had agreed contracts with were unable to be registered with, but the arrival of Devine and Duggan give them some new options.

Both players previously played with Cork City FC, while Devine spent last season with Waterford United and Duggan started out at Plymouth Argyle in England.

"Shane [Duggan] had a number of offers in England but he wanted to play for the club and I am delighted that he has signed," said Dunne.

"He's a talented young player with an eye for goal from midfield, and I'm very pleased to have him on board.

"Mick [Devine] brings a wealth of experience to the squad. With so many young players at the club, it is important to have experience at the back, and to have two experienced goalkeepers competing for a place will be important for us."

Meanwhile, the Leesiders have also recruited midfielder David Clancy and forward Rory Morrissey.
