BRAY WANDERERS

Unbeaten Bray Wanderers welcome Longford Town to the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Seagulls have picked up two wins and a draw so far this season, with the most recent of which being a 1-1 stalemate against Finn Harps.

But Ian Ryan’s side have picked up wins against Kerry and Treaty United in their two games prior to that.

“We’re disappointed with the result against Finn Harps but we will dust ourselves down ahead of the game against Longford,” Ryan said last week.

“We had a great crowd against Kerry and a good group of supporters travelled up to Finn Park (last week).

“We thank them for their support. We’ll dust ourselves down, get back on the horse and hopefully we’ll see out a win against Longford on Friday.”

Darren Craven and David Webster are both expected to miss out through injury, while Len O’Sullivan is a doubt after missing out on last week’s draw against Finn Harps.

LONGFORD TOWN

Winless Longford Town make the trip to the Carlisle Grounds on Friday evening in their search for a first three points of the season.

After slumping to a dismal opening day defeat to Athlone Town, Longford have drawn their two games against Waterford and Cobh Ramblers.

They have done so by shoring up their defensive line with a relatively young side – with Cian Byrne and Oisin Hand impressing after joining.

And manager Stephen Henderson is hoping that his side can continue impressing and improving under his watch.

“This is the toughest First Division I have ever seen,” Henderson said on Saturday night after Longford’s scoreless draw with Cobh.

“Bray will try and play so we are looking forward to that match. There will be two teams that want to play through the thirds.

“I think it will be an exciting game and I am really looking forward to it.”

In terms of team news for Longford Town, they are likely to be without Aaron Walsh through injury.

Referee: Michael Connolly.
