Extratime.ie Key Man: Ali Coote

With Liam Burt making the switch from Bohemians to bitter rivals Shamrock Rovers, Ali Coote is expected to play a vital role for Declan Devine’s men this season.

Previously of Brentford B, Waterford and Dundee United, Coote shone during his first year at Dalymount Park in 2021 – and he will be looking to do the same this season.

While he and many of his teammates failed to catch fire last year in Dublin 7, Coote will be hoping that a change of management and a move to full-time football can change his fortunes.

And should he find his form, there is no reason why the former Scotland Under-17 international can not propel Bohemians to a European place.

Extratime.ie One to Watch: Dean Williams

Following the loss of Georgie Kelly before the start of last season, Bohs struggled to score goals – and that was one of Keith Long’s downfalls as boss.

But they have acted to try and rectify that issue by signing Dean Williams from Drogheda United.

Williams, previously on the books of Shamrock Rovers, has shown over the last few years that he has an innate ability to score big goals at important times.

And that quality is likely to be priceless for Bohemians this season as they seek to right the wrongs of a sour end to 2022.

What to expect this season:

With a considerable clear-out taking place at Dalymount Park during the off-season, there is an optimism growing that Bohs can begin to overachieve once more under their new boss.

Devine took charge before the end of last season and presided over some disappointing results to conclude their wretched campaign.

But he has been given an opportunity to revamp his squad and bring in a number of players that he sees as part of his vision at the club.

And should those signings work out as planned, the Gypsies will be confident that a European place is achievable alongside a possible FAI Cup run.

First Game: Away to Cork City, February 17th, Turner’s Cross (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
