McCann signs for Burton Albion
Burton Albion have announced the signing of experienced Dubliner Chris McCann on a short term deal, fresh from the midfielder departing the League of Ireland as a title winner with Shamrock Rovers.
The switch will see McCann link up once again with Brewers’ boss Dino Maamria, who said the following to his club media,
"I had Chris at Oldham and he's done brilliantly for me - his pedigree is class and he's played at a high level. He's left-footed as well. We're delighted to have him on board and hopefully he can push us up the table."
Speaking to the same source, McCann himself said: "I've been training here for a couple of weeks and got to know the lads well over the period of time I've been here.
"Once my deal ended in Ireland, I came over and asked Dino if he'd be interested in getting me into training just to keep me ticking over.
"Obviously that culminated in him offering me something, which I'm delighted about."
McCann made his debut yesterday (Saturday), as a substitute in a 3-2 win over Fleetwood Town for whom former Bohemians forward Promise Omochere scored.
