McGrath and Okosun secure first professional contracts with Bohemians
Bohemians have announced the signing of academy players Danny McGrath and Nickson Okosun to their first professional contracts with the club.
The 16 year olds joined the Gypsies from St Kevin’s Boys and have progressed through the club’s academy featuring for their under 19s last year and winning the Enda McGuill Cup.
“We are really pleased with the development of both Danny and Nickson,” Bohs Head of Academy Craig Sexton said, speaking to the club’s website.
“Their progress is a testament to their own hard work and ability but also to the coaches who have nurtured them every step of the way at both St Kevin’s and the academy teams.
“Our long-term strategy is to keep the best young players at the club. We want to reward talented players with the right attitude, and get them to commit to the club.
“Danny and Nickson very much fit that profile. We will look after them both in terms of their development as footballers but as people too in assisting with their education.
“They are two really good lads. They are talented but have the right attitude to push themselves further, and we are looking forward to seeing how they progress with the U19s this season.”
