Galway United announce re-signing of Rob Manley
Galway United have re-signed talismanic striker Rob Manley in their bid to win promotion to the Premier Division in 2023.
Manley first joined the Tribesman in July 2022 in their ultimately unsuccessful bid for promotion, scoring seven goals and featuring in their play-off loss to Waterford in November.
Prior to joining, he played with Bray Wanderers for the first half of the 2022 season where he scored three goals.
He also previously played for Longford, Cabinteely and UCD. He has proven himself to be a valuable goal scorer at this level, the most prolific of which was the 17 goals he scored for Cabinteely in the 2019 season which led him to being named as the First Division Player of the Year.
Speaking to the club, Manley said, “I really enjoyed the first three months that I was here, and I’m looking forward to a special season next year.”
He also spoke of his admiration for the Galway supporters.
“The fans were such a big help towards the end of the season. They packed out Eamonn Deacy Park for every game I was there.”
Manley is among 16 signings thus far for Galway United including the re-signing of captain Conor McCormack and last season’s top scorer Stephen Walsh as well as some of the new additions such as Callum McNamara and Rob Slevin.
With the appointment of ex-Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan as John Caulfield’s assistant, Galway appear determined to gain promotion this season.
Looking forward to getting back at it ⚽️ 🇱🇻 https://t.co/PJ7vInoJLJ
