Ireland underage international Josh Giurgi signs for Longford Town
Having spent last season with Shelbourne in the Premier Division, Josh Giurgi has joined Longford Town for the upcoming 2023 campaign.
The Dublin native played underage football with Leixlip United before earning a place in the academy at Norwich City where he remained until he returned home to sign for Damien Duff’s Shels.
The 20-year-old has also represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-17 and Under-18 level and was part of the Under-17 squad that took part in the European Under-17 Championship in 2019.
Giurgi is the latest in a number of signings for Longford Town as Stephen Henderson looks to build a new team for his first season in charge.
Jack Brady (Treaty United), Jamal Ibrahim (Shelbourne), Kyle O'Connor (Shelbourne), Francis Campbell (Shelbourne), James Doona (Cork City), Derek Daly (Crumlin United), Evan Farrell (Bangor Celtic), Gavin O'Brien (Bohemians) and Oisin Hand (Shamrock Rovers) have all signed for the club in the close season.
