Latvia to face Ireland in March friendly
Latvia will be the first team to face Stephen Kenny’s Republic of Ireland in 2023 when they travel to the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, March 22nd, with a kick-off at 7.45pm.
The fixture will take place five days before the Irish side are due to face World Cup Finalists France in their opening UEFA EURO Qualifying campaign game.
The Republic of Ireland have faced Latvia on five previous occasions. In 2015, Martin O’Neill began his Ireland managerial career with a 3-0 win against the Baltic side.
Ireland also faced Latvia in qualification campaigns for World Cup 94 and Euro 96 under Jack Charlton and won all four games, scoring 11 times and conceding once.
