Jessie Stapleton and Izzy Atkinson called up to Ireland squad for final World Cup Qualifier
Vera Pauw has brought in two players for their final Group A game of the World Cup Qualifying campaign against Slovakia on Tuesday.
Shelbourne's 17-year-old defender Jessie Stapleton, who has one senior cap, and West Ham United's Isibeal Atkinson, who has four international caps to her name, came into camp on Friday.
Ireland’s 1-0 win over Finland secured the play-off spot that the girls in green coveted but came at a slight cost with four players departing the squad ahead of the trip to Slovakia.
Niamh Fahey missed the Finland game due to a groin strain and fresh injuries mean Ruesha Littlejohn (foot) and Megan Connolly (ribs) will not travel. Neither will Jamie Finn whose second half yellow card means she is suspended.
