Shamrock Rovers Europa Conference League group stage opponents confirmed
Shamrock Rovers have been drawn in Group F of the UEFA Europa Conference League and will face Gent, Molde and Djurgarden.
The Hoops reached the group stages after losing 4-1 on aggregate to Ferencvarosi TC in the UEFA Europa League play-off round having previously defeated Shkupi in Third Qualifying Round.
Top seeds Belgian side Gent reached the group stages after losing 4-0 on aggregate to Cypriot side Omonoia.
Molde of Norway progressed through three rounds in the Conference to reach the group stage defeating Elfsborg (6-2), Kisvarda (4-2) and Wolfsberg (4-1).
Swedish side Djurgarden also progressed through three rounds to reach this stage of the competition. They recorded victories over Rijeka (4-1), Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe (6-2) and APOEL (5-3).
League of Ireland fans may be familiar with all three sides as they have all previously faced Irish opponents in recent years.
Bohemians lost 3-2 to Gent in the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2005. Sligo Rovers lost 3-0 to Molde in the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League while Dundalk suffered a 5-2 defeat to the Norwegian side in 2020-21 season.
Djurgarden have faced Shamrock Rovers previously when they defeated the Hoops 5-1 on aggregate in the 2002-03 UEFA Cup but since then Cork City recorded a victory over the Swedish side when they progressed on away goals in the 2005-06 Europa League.
The fixtures will be confirmed on Saturday morning.
