James Talbot called up to Ireland squad as Bazunu ruled out due to injury

Bohemians ‘keeper James Talbot has been drafted into the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games as Gavin Bazunu has been ruled out due to a back injury.

Talbot will be part of the training session on Monday at the FAI National Training Centre. 

The goalkeeper had been called up previously to the senior Ireland squad. He was added to the Ireland squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Denmark and Gibraltar after Mark Travers had to withdraw due to injury and he was part of the matchday squad for the games against Denmark and Gibraltar in 2019.

He was part of Stephen Kenny’s squad for the recent games against Belgium and Lithuania.

Ireland face Ukraine at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday before Scotland are the visitors on Saturday (5pm ko) and the final game of this four match window is in Lodz, Poland against Ukraine on Tuesday 14 June 14.
