Henderson swoops with three more
Waterford United boss Stephen Henderson has added three more players to his squad for the 2010 campaign.
John Hayes, Gary Keane and James O’Sullivan have all agreed contracts to run until the end of the season.
Defender Hayes returns to The Blues after taking a year out last season. He joined United from Waterford Bohs in 2004 and enjoyed loan spells with Kilkenny and Cobh Ramblers.
The popular central defender is composed on the ball, quick, strong and powerful in the air and would be expected to partner Kevin Murray in the centre of defence this season. He is also comfortable slotting into a defensive midfield role and his return to the squad is a timely boost ahead of the new campaign.
Keane has also signed up and he will move up from the U-20 ranks. On the back of some excellent performances last year, Henderson has decided that he can add competition for places. He is quick and lively, and can play up front or in a midfield role.
O’Sullivan is new to the Munster club having signed from Clonmel Town. An attacking midfielder of enormous potential, he played his first game for United in the recent friendly with St. Patrick's Athletic and Henderson was quick to put a deal on the table.
Chairman John Sullivan admitted that the club are still in talks with numerous players and hope to finalise the squad in the coming days.
