Seamus Conneely has ended the speculation about his future after agreeing a new contract with Galway United for the 2010 season.

The 21-year-old was one of the stand-out performers for The Tribesmen last season as they secured their Premier Division status and his displays caught the attention of Ireland U-21 boss Don Givens.

He has since featured for the U-21's and will be hoping to win more caps over the coming months as he aims to build on last season's form with Galway.

Conneely had been linked with moves to Sligo Rovers and Dundalk, but has opted to stick with the Terryland Park outfit as he is currently studying in NUIG.

The re-signing of the talented defender further boosts Sean Connor's squad, which is starting to take shape ahead of the new campaign.
