Chloe Mustaki called up for Ireland squad on eve of Pinatar Cup
Shelbourne player Chloe Mustaki has been called up by Vera Pauw for the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of the start this week of the Pinatar Cup in Spain.
With Niamh Farrelly ruled out due to an injury see picked up playing for Glasgow City, Mustaki gets her first squad call up in two years.
It’s never a comfortable feeling hearing about injuries, especially those of your teammates.

So many deserving players, but after two years of grafting, I’ll certainly enjoy this one Very grateful https://t.co/yweeiXHbmk
The former Bordeaux and Charlton Athletic player is currently in her second spell at Tolka Park having spent the 2019 season with Shelbourne after making the move from DLR Waves. She subsequently moved to England to play for Charlton after the 2019 season where she made eight appearances for the club.
After rupturing her ACL in March 2020 during an Ireland training camp, she made the return to club football with Shelbourne last season where she helped the Reds win the 2021 Women’s National League title.
With Vera Pauw expected to give all the players in the squad appearances across the three games Ireland are due to play, it will mean most likely that Mustaki will earn her first senior international cap at some stage over the next week.
Ireland’s first game is against Poland on Wednesday.
