Evan O'Connor signs for Galway United after trial
Galway United have signed defender Evan O’Connor ahead of the 2022 season.
The 21-year-old had been on trial with the Tribesmen and has impressed John Caulfield in pre-season.
He has left Limerick District League side Regional United to make the move to the First Division.
O’Connor cut his teeth during spell sat Longford Town and Athlone Town, before moving to Regional in January 2021.
Speaking to galwayunitedfc.com, O’Connor said that the Tribesmen deserve to be in the topflight.
“This club deserves to be in the top division of Ireland,” O’Connor said.
“The aim is to be a solid defender, to defend really well, and a good defender in this league will go far. It’s a big club to come to, I’m really enjoying it so far and I’m looking forward to a good season.”
Galway open their campaign with a trip to Turner’s Cross to face Cork City on February 25th.
