Finn Harps announce signing of Filip Mihaljevic
Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan has continued to bring a very multinational feel to the Finn Harps squad for the 2022 season with the latest addition of Croatian striker Filip Mihaljevic who arrived in Ballybofey this week.
This is the latest move in what has been a very nomadic career for the 29- year- old striker.
Mihaljevic graduated through Dinamo Zagreb's youth system, but has had spells with Lokomotiv Plovdiv in Bulgaria, Widzew Lodz in Poland, Italy's Seregno, and most recently with Visakha in Cambodia. He will, incidentally, be the first ever Croatian to play in the League of Ireland.
He scored 13 goals in 15 appearances for Visakha and Horgan will be hoping he will be as successful as the man who he effectively will be replacing, Tunde Owolabi, who has moved to St Patrick’s Athletic for the new season.
Mihaljevic spoke to the Finn Harps media team this week and said, “I’m delighted to sign with Finn Harps. I’ve settled well and the lads in the squad have been great. I’m excited for the season ahead and to meet the supporters very soon.”
Ollie Horgan also told club media: “Filip has done well since he’s come in. He’s experienced and has scored goals wherever he’s played.
“It might take him some time to settle in and adjust to the intensity of the league here but I’m confident he’ll be a good player for us.”
