Waterford have confirmed eight players who will remain with the club for the 2022 League of Ireland First Division season.

The players confirmed for next season are Republic of Ireland international Eddie Nolan, George Forrest, Jeremie Milambo, Niall O’Keeffe, Junior Quitirna, Phoenix Patterson, Cian Kavanagh and Ronaldo Green.

The Blues suffered relegation from the Premier Division in 2021 and new boss Ian Morris will be looking to put together a squad to gain promotion in 2022.

“Having these players signed for 2022 is a great start for us and gives us a really good base to build on.,” Morris said, speaking to the club’s media team.

“They know the club and that’s what we need to get started and be ready for the season start in February.

“We continue to negotiate with a number of last season’s players and expect to announce contract renewals soon. I’m also speaking with a number of players from outside the club to give us lots of options and we hope to announce those shortly.”
