Dinny Corcoran swaps Drogheda for Wexford
Wexford have announced the signing of experienced striker Dinny Corcoran for the 2022 League of Ireland season.
The 32-year-old spent last year at Drogheda United where he made just six starts for the Louth club scoring once. Corcoran confirmed he would be leaving in November and described 2021 as a “frustrating year on the pitch”.
The Dubliner has been a regular in the Premier Division since 2011 racking up 237 league appearances for the likes of Bohemians, Sporting Fingal and the aforementioned Drogheda, scoring 73 goals in that time.
Wexford finished bottom of the First Division last year and manager Ian Ryan will be hoping his new recruit can fire them up the table this time around.
He posted his delight about the move on his Twitter account with the message ‘Looking forward to getting started @wexfordfc’
Corcoran joins goalkeeper Paul Hunt and midfielder Conor Barry, who also signed for the Ferrycarrig Park outfit in recent days.
Craig Sexton: ‘Ultimately I am here to develop everyone at the football club wherever I can; structures, coach development and player development.’ https://t.co/vs4bb9suhQpic.twitter.com/RnXWRKPrlD
