Wexford snap up First Division winning goalkeeper Paul Hunt
Wexford have announced the signing of Paul Hunt ahead of the 2022 season.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper joins from Cork City, having been back-up keeper to Mark McNulty at Turners Cross last season.
Hunt cut his teeth at Bohemians and St. Patrick’s Athletics’ academies before signing for Longford Town in 2011.
Hunt played a key role as Longford won the 2014 First Division Title, before finishing sixth in the 2015 Premier Division.
He then moved south to Cobh Ramblers ahead of the 2016 season. Hunt spent five seasons at St. Colman’s Park and won the club’s player of the season award in 2017.

With over 150 appearances to his name, Hunt brings a wealth of experience to Ian Ryan’s side who struggled in 2021.
Six wins, three draws and eighteen losses last season saw Wexford finish bottom of the First Division.
Other recent signings Conor Barry from Galway and Joe Manley from Longford have boosted Wexford’s hopes of a higher finish in 2022.
