Derry City have continued to bulk up their squad ahead of the new season with the double capture of Stephen Parkhouse and Emmett Friars as well as the re-signing of Barry Molloy.

With The Candystripes hoping to secure a place in the First Division, manager Stephen Kenny has been busy adding new players to his squad, but Molloy is the latest from last year's panel to commit his services to the club.

The hard-tackling midfielder had been on trial with Coca-Cola League One side Bristol Rovers, although he failed to win a contract there and has decided to follow the likes of Gerard Doherty, Eddie McCallion, Kevin Deery and Mark Farren in agreeing new terms with Derry.

Kenny's side are due to take on Institute in their first pre-season friendly on February 10th, which will be when Parkhouse and Friars are expected to make their debuts.

Parkhouse arrives at The Brandywell following a spell with Sligo Rovers, while Friars last played for Newry City. Both will provide some much-needed experience to the Derry squad going into what will surely be a tough season.

Meanwhile, Aaron Nash, who was with the club last season, has joined Lisburn Distillery.
