Ethan Boyle re-signs for Harps for 2022 campaign
Ollie Horgan has wasted no time in tying down one of his stars of last season with the re-signing of Wexford native Ethan Boyle.
The defender, who can also operate in midfield, scored on his league debut for Waterford in August 2014 and went on to also spend the 2015 season at the RSC, before a short spell at North End Utd was ended with his first signing at Finn Park.
Two seasons, and another solitary league goal followed before he joined Shamrock Rovers for the 2018 season - a season in which he was also part of the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad for their September encounter against Germany. During his two seasons with the Hoops he made 48 league appearances.
He then linked up with Northern Irish side Linfield and played seven games for David Healy’s men as they won the 2019/20 Premier Division before signing with Finn Harps once more ahead of the 2021 season.
With 32 league appearances and three goals, he was a mainstay of the setup at Finn Park and his re-signing means another important cog in the Harps’ defence will be present in 2022.
Recent re-signings also announced by the Ballybofey outfit include goalkeeper Mark McGinley, defender Dave Webster, midfielders Ryan Rainey, Ryan Connolly and the mercurial Barry McNamee.
