Former Ipswich Town player Doherty extends stay at Ferrycarrig Park
Wexford have announced the re-signing of Jack Doherty ahead of next year’s First Division campaign.
The 27 year old is extending his stay at Ferrycarrig Park or a fourth season and the midfielder scored six goals during this year’s First Division campaign for Wexford.
"I've known Jack throughout the league. He's been brilliant since I came in, and what's most pleasing for me is the stuff he's not known for,” manager Ian Ryan said, speaking to the club’s media team.
“The work rate he has put in, he has been pressing from the front, he has brought in huge quality to the squad."
The midfielder is well travelled and began his career a decade ago with Waterford before moving to the UK and signing for Ipswich Town in 2013.
He has had spells in the League of Ireland with Limerick, and Longford Town.
