Drogheda United have announced the re-signing of Dane Massey ahead of next year’s Premier Division campaign.

Newly appointed Drogheda manager Kevin Doherty has also named Massey as the new club captain.

The 33 year old made 33 appearances for the Boynesiders and scored four times as the side finished seventh in the Premier Division this season.

Massey began his career with Bray Wanderers in 2008 before making the move to Dundalk in 2012.

He went on to make nearly 300 appearances for the Lilywhites during an extremely successful period for the Louth club until his departure in after the 2020 season.
