Foster to be unveiled as Dundalk manager

Ian Foster will shortly be unveiled as the new manager of Dundalk FC after it was revealed this evening by Galway United CEO Nick Leeson that they were now on the lookout for their fourth manager in as many seasons.
Leeson revealed that the cash-strapped Westerners had denied Dundalk permission to speak to the Liverpudlian, who impressed in his rookie year of management last season. Despite still having a year to run on his contract with the Tribesman, it now looks as if Foster will follow his former colleague Jeff Kenna's example in leaving Galway for a club with a relatively more stable financial footing and loftier ambitions.
It was well known that Foster had applied for the Lilywhites job, but his name has only really come to the fore after Stephen Kenny's well-publicised rejection of a job offer.
Dundalk have called a press conference for 8pm tonight at the Crowne Plaza hotel, where they have confirmed that the new manager will be revealed, and although they have not revealed an identity, Foster is clearly in line to follow in Sean Connor's footsteps.
